Budgeting and Fundraising

We are thankful to Ingersoll Rand, Nitro Manufacturing, and Newell Rubbermaid for continuing to donate facilities and materials this year. FIRST Team SPORK presented the FIRST Robotics Competition to eight corporations this fall and wrote nine grant requests to obtain financial funding.

FIRST Team SPORK is extremely grateful to Newell Rubbermaid, United Technologies, PTC, the owners of the AeroDyn Wind Tunnel, EnergyUnited of Statesville, Time Warner Cable, and General Microcircuits for significant financial grants. These grants have covered our expenses for the Regional Registrations, Kit of Parts, additional robotic materials, and additional costs associated with competition. The families of the students pay for our hotels and bus transport to the NC and Palmetto Regionals and provide meals for the team and mentors throughout our build season.

Several local businesses donate materials and food to FIRST Team SPORK, including Lowe's Home Improvemet, Southpaw Custom Graphics, Stock Car Steel and Aluminum, QMF, Sonny's BBQ in Mooresville, and Qdoba of Huntersville.
