• Robot: SPORKCannon

  • Built: 2016

  • Description: The SPORKCannon is a side project that team SPORK took on as a part of our outreach to our local community, specifically our schools, in order to generate interest in robotics. Designed and built between the 2016 and 2017 seasons, the SPORKCannon uses compressed air to launch rolled shirts, and has seen use at several local football games. Running on a tank tread, this robot is tricked out with LEDs and scrolling text display. The cannon operates using solenoid valves to release air from a 3000 psi pneumatic tank to launch shirts. By displaying and using this robot, we hope to spark interest in robotics and promote our team in our local community.
